🔥 What to Expect at the Annual Firefighter Mass
Before the Mass:
- 👨👩👧👦 Families and friends sit throughout the pews.
- 👨🚒 Firefighters line up on the steps in front of the church.
- 🏅 Blessed St. Florian medals and prayer cards are distributed to firefighters in attendance.
- 🎵 Firefighters process into the church together as the bagpipes play.
- 🙏🏼 Firefighters are seated in the front rows for the service.
During the Mass:
- 📖 Celebrate the Mass.
- 🕯️ In Memoriam – reading of the names of firefighters who have passed in the last year.
- 🏅 Presentation of the Kimberly Ann Smith Medal.
- 👨🚒 Firefighters march out in procession as the Mass ends.
After the Mass:
- 🙏 Blessing of firefighters and apparatus by the priest in front of the church.
- 📸 Firefighters immediately line up for a group photo on the steps in front of the Co-Cathedral.
- 🍽️ Free luncheon and desserts – complimentary for all attendees, while supplies last.
Post-Mass Luncheon:
- 🙌🏽 Everyone is invited to the complimentary luncheon.
- ❤️ Let’s celebrate with families, friends, and food!
- 📍 Walk directly behind the Church: Cathedral Centre, 1701 San Jacinto, Houston, TX 77002
- 👉🏽 Guides will be there to direct everyone to the location inside the building.
- 🚨 Ends promptly at 2:00 PM.
